Welcome to Malaysia, Bieber ;)

Justin Bieber is having a concert at Stadium Merdeka tomorrow night! I bet my niece, Wawa, is totally ecstatic about going to the concert tomorrow with my other niece and nephews. She is, like, the biggest Justin fan ever. She knows the words of every Justin song and she even knows the moves! Seriously, she is so cute when she does a Justin number! Though, the last time I saw her, she said she had a new love interest; Big Time Rush.

Seriously, I used to be really quick in knowing all the new pop acts and everything but I have never heard of Big Time Rush until Wawa mentioned it. The first time I ever saw their music video, Boyfriend, was last week here, in Kuantan, when Astro was installed in Aina’s house and started watching MTV. Wow. They are actually really popular. Their video is on, like, every half-an-hour. So now I realize that I’ve gotten really old. I no longer know all the new hip and cool happenings of the pop culture now.

Sigh. Oh well. We can’t stay hip and cool forever.

A Fresh New Face

Yay! It’s a new blog! I deleted my old one because for some reason, I just started to really hate it. It was getting more and more boring with each post I made. So, yay!! New blog!

I’m in my second week of my elective posting now so I have like, all the time in the world to manage this blog. I’m staying in Kuantan for 3 weeks (1 down, 2 to go) and it’s been…interesting. There aren’t that many places to visit but my friend, Zac, says it’s all about the food here; ikan baker, satar (seriously, I had no idea what satar was before Waddah and Zac mentioned it) so I’m looking forward to trying those out. And it’s FREAKISHLY hot here!!!

The first week wasn’t so bad, but coming into the second week—man!—it was BURINING hot! Last weekend we (Aina, Dila, Ruhil, Didi, Azie, and me) went to Telok Cempedak for a picnic where Aina made nasi lemak, bread pudding and pengat pisang for us (thank you, Aina!) to feast on. It was definitely one hell of a great feast except it got interrupted by the scorching sun. Damn, forget about sunblock—I was sunburnt! But hey, a little sun never stopped us from having a little photoshoot. Um, did I say little? You be the judge. Haha.

Okay, so the vacationing part aside, what about the elective posting part? Well, one thing I noticed about Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzhan is that it is so much windier in the wards compared to HKL. All the windows and doors were wide open from the front to the back. That was nice.

Ok yeah, I’m lame. That’s the first thing that popped into my mind about the hospital.

It’s been over a year we had our medicine and surgery posting so we were kind of finding it a hard time to incorporate the medical and surgical and leaving the psychiatry from our minds. We see a patient with chest pain, shortness of breath and palpitations and our first diagnosis is panic attack when in reality he just had a heart attack. We see a patient with a bandage around his eye and our first diagnosis is deliberate self harm when in reality he had a motor vehicle accident. It someone were to ask us what are the differential diagnosis for acute abdominal pain and we would answer, “I know the differentials for hallucination.” Hahaha.

I know I should be catching up on my studying now but it’s really hard when it’s only been over a week fourth year just finished. We need a break! Plus, I’m way too excited for my trip to Melbourne soon! Okay, so yeah, I really should study. Fifth year is only around the corner, right?

Damn, I just got the chills.
